Formally trained in design and marketing I express creativity through drawing, painting, stained glass, photography, computer design and home renovations. Making my home in Elora, Ontario I love to travel across the globe which always offers inspiration for my work. Sailing has taken a back seat but when the dinghy makes it on the water it’s always enjoyable. thanks for visiting my site. ~ Julie
Having grown up in 'small town' Ontario, west of Toronto, my younger brother and I along with our dog, explored the fields, pond and woods around our home. Like many others of our generation only a call for dinner brought us indoors. A love of wildlife developed as my father would bring home abandoned critters such as young mallard 🦆 ducks, a rabbit 🐇 and even a chicken that fell off of a truck. All so cute and vulnerable, they gave me a lot of opportunities to learn and to love.

While regularly visiting a friends beautiful and inspirational off-grid remote cabin in isolated northern Ontario during 2016-2021, I learned a new skill. I discovered using pastels was tricky but easier to transport than wet oil paintings.
This lead to a collection of more realistic Ontario wildlife pastel & charcoal drawings on board and wood paddles.
Inspired by Nature
creating is a must for me, be it a meal,
a brochure, a solution, an event,
a space or artwork.
